Paris Picnic: From Dream to Reality

When I started The Femme Club, I knew my mission was to make it easier for women to connect. But to do that, I had to create experiences that felt special enough to bring strangers together and turn them into friends.
One of the boldest ideas I imagined early on was a picnic in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower as our backdrop. Not just a casual blanket picnic, but a full setup with low tables, soft pastels, flowers, and details that made it feel magical. At the time, it felt like such a wild dream - I remember thinking: could I really pull this off?
Fast forward to that August afternoon, and there I was in Paris, carrying crates all the way from Amsterdam (yes, the low tables were handmade from crates we hauled through the city - crazy heavy, but so worth it!). On my way I picked up the most expensive flowers I've ever bought, all to create that perfect picnic I had in my mind. The setup came together: pastel tones, food, flowers, and the Eiffel Tower in the background. And then the magic happened, more than 25 women arrived, from every corner of the world.
We had girls who had just landed in Paris days earlier - moving for studies, for love, or a career change. A digital nomad looking to grow her circle. Women who had just returned after years abroad. And Parisian locals who simply wanted to meet new friends. American, Swedish, Norwegian, Algerian, Iranian, Indonesian, Dutch, Greek, Italian and more.. The mix of nationalities was incredible.
What struck me most wasn’t just the number of women, but how quickly the laughter, the conversations, and the energy flowed. Watching them exchange stories, make plans for the following weeks, and even film a silly TikTok together at the end, all with te view of the Eiffel Tower, was a true pinch-me moment.
This picnic wasn’t just an event. It was proof that what starts as an idea in your head can become real if you dare to create it. For me, it showed that The Femme Club isn’t just about gatherings, it’s about building something bigger: a family of girlfriends all over the world.
Now, when I go back to Paris - a city I used to arrive in alone - I know I’ll never be alone again. I have women I can text for coffee, dinner, or just a walk. And that’s what The Femme Club is all about: creating spaces where connection feels effortless, and where you realize that no matter where you are in the world, you belong.
So thankful and grateful for all the girlies I got the pleasure meeting, can't wait for the next one. 💫
